Our team is Well-Equipped!

Commercial Snow Removal and Ice Management can be a challenging endeavor for many. One of the most common challenges that we see snow removal contractors face, is equipment difficulty.

We are fortunate to boast that our snow removal operators are equipped with modern, well-maintained, top-of-the-line snow removal equipment.

Our fleet of snowplows, snowblowers, sidewalk-clearing machines, and salt spreaders are all built by some of the industry's most trusted brands in snow removal equipment such as Toro, Caterpillar, Kubota, Western, and Boss. Before and after each event, our in-house maintenance technicians ensure that each piece of equipment, down to a shovel, is in good working order. Not only do we perform two biennial overhauls on our equipment, but we even service/maintain the equipment if needed during a snow event.

We are proud to boast that a majority of our commercial snow and ice management equipment that is in service, is less than 4 years old. The modernness of our equipment, combined with our in-house maintenance capabilities, and operator training, help us ensure the maximum amount of up-time during a snow and ice event - increasing our reliability, and ensuring our commitment to your properties' access and safety.

We're Prompt!

Snow storms don't sneak up on us!
Although weather patterns are not 100% predictable, we use the United States Government's National Severe Storm Laboratory to help us formulate a storm-specific tailored response program.

Through their state-of-the-art technology, we can use a combination of Satellite Images, Radar, The National Weather Service's Dual-Polarized Radar, and Doppler Radar to track the storm with the highest accuracy possible.

On average, we spend ~2 weeks tracking the storm. This allows us to ensure that the necessary equipment, supplies, and personnel are available and ready for the intense duty of commercial snow removal service, as well as ice management service.

Commercial Snow Removal
Commercial Snow Removal Service Basics

Snowfall during a winter storm is stressful enough – let’s keep it simple.

Every condition and storm is different; we do a bulk of our commercial snow removal services before 6 a.m.

We have a varied fleet enlisting snow removal and ice management equipment including shovels, snow plows, snow pushers, skid loaders, heavy-duty trucks, sidewalk clearing machines, bulk salt spreaders, and more.

Most of our equipment is less than 4 years old, and is from industry leaders such as Western, Boss, and Toro.

We believe that it is very important to dispatch assets where they are of their highest utility – them is of the essence during a winter event – snow waits for no one.

We have a portfolio of serviced-accounts ranging from multi-site zero-tolerance box-store lots, to seasonal 2″ triggered home owner associations.

Our equipment tends to be best suited from medium-large apartment complexes, home owner associations, self-storage developments, churches, and commercial/mixed-use buildings.

We would invite you to gather a bid from us. If we feel that our equipment, staff, or training is not up to the task, then we may recommend another company from our network as a possible option.

Commercial Ice management
Commercial Salt Application

We offer bulk salt application for all commercial ice melt conditions.

During a storm, we measure a variety of related attributes such as forecast, on-site ground-temperature, and rate of accumulation to help us determine the amount, type, and timing of the salt application.

Our horticulture-specialists can certainly take a look.
We are familiar with many lawn diseases common in Cedar Rapids, and surrounding areas in Iowa.

Sometimes the issues are as simple as under/over watering or your new sod or grass seed.

Do you have mosquitos in your yard? We are gearing up to offer this service, and anticipate being ready during the 2024 season.

Snow Removal Contracts
Which Type of Contract is Recommended?

Since no two parking lots nor commercial properties are the same, we offer four different types of commercial snow and ice management contracts.

All of our Snow and Ice Management contracts are 2-year agreements.

  • Pros: With zero-tolerance, your property will be cleared with the highest-level of diligence and urgency, no matter how much snow falls. It offers peace of mind and keeps your property accessible during heavy snow events.
  • Cons: The cost is fixed, regardless of the amount of snowfall. It may be a higher upfront investment, but it ensures consistent service throughout the season.
  • Best for: This contract type is ideal for properties where access needs to be maintained at all times, such as hospitals, shopping centers, and large corporate offices.
  • Expectation: Expect prompt service and a clear property every time it snows, ensuring safety and accessibility for your staff and customers.
  • Common Applications: Box stores, high-traffic retail, critical access industrial, hospital, high-traffic corporate.
  • Pros: This option provides a balance between cost-effectiveness and reliability. You’re only paying for a response when the snow reaches a certain threshold, which can save money during lighter winters. The cost is fixed, until the accumulation or salting caps are reached. Most of our caps don’t kick in until total snowfall reaches 140% of the 10-year average snow fall for Cedar Rapids, IA.
  • Cons: During events that are below the agreed-upon threshold – most commonly 2″ of accumulation – your property will not be serviced within this contract. Additional, below-trigger services are available for an additional fee.
  • Best for: Properties with moderate foot traffic, such as small businesses, apartment complexes, and retail stores.
  • Expectation: You can expect timely service once the snow accumulation reaches the agreed-upon threshold – normally 2″ of accumulation, ensuring safety while keeping costs manageable.
  • Common Applications: Apartment Complex, Low-Moderate Traffic Retail, Low-Moderate Traffic Industrial, Self-Storage, Warehouse, Home Owner Association (HOA).

With a Per-Push contract, you are only paying for the services that you use, as you use them.

With a Per-Push contract, we service your property once it hits the accumulation trigger – most commonly 2″. If the storm continues, then we return once another 2″ has accumulated.

This contract-type ensures that you always have safe access to the property, even during the toughest of events.

The Per-Inch contract is the lowest-cost contract that we offer.

With the Per-Inch contract, your property is serviced only at the end of the accumulation period.

Since we are not continuously servicing your property during the event, this allows us to save on the cost of service.

The price of the service depends on the total accumulation that was examined on site, as well as the total amount of salt or sand that was applied.

This commercial snow removal service contract is most commonly used on low-traffic sites, where access during the duration of the accumulation period is not a priority, but budget-friendliness is.
